Crama Mircesti winery
Project type
Guesthouse
Date
2018-2021
Location
Mircesti, Ungheni district, Moldova
The interior design concept of Crama Mircesti is a harmonious blend of rustic Moldovan tradition and understated modern elegance, successfully translating the property's "Little Tuscany of Moldova" nickname into its spaces.
The design philosophy is centered on restoring and celebrating the site's history—a former boyar's manor house with an exterior characterized by the classic Brâncovenesc style—while providing contemporary comfort and a premium experience.
The overarching theme is rustic-elegant. This is achieved by combining rough, authentic textures and traditional details with refined materials and a clean aesthetic.
Common Areas (Restaurant & Lounge): These spaces utilize rustic decor but maintain an atmosphere of good taste and sophistication. A central feature is the presence of a fireplace, which enhances the feeling of warmth and coziness, particularly during wine tastings and dinner service. The lighting is discreet, ensuring a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
The use of natural materials is paramount. Because of underfloor heating, the rooms floor are finished with porcelain tiles that imitate wood parquet, all contributing to a clean, yet historically grounded look.
Many rooms feature a balcony or offer views of the garden or inner courtyard, ensuring guests feel connected to the picturesque Mircesti countryside, which is a major part of the overall resort appeal.
Details like a private bathroom, a desk, and a wardrobe indicate a fully functional and contemporary standard of a 5-star hotel, discreetly incorporated into the rustic shell.
